A book I am looking for is not on the shelves. What should I do?

If you cannot find an item that you are looking for:

  • Check Primo to make sure that it is still available and you have the correct classmark and location ( How do I do that? ).
  • Check the shelves and trolleys in the Items for shelving sections on level E and F in the Hugh Owen Library (check the library floorplan  for locations) and in the trolley in the Physical Sciences Library.

If you are still unable to locate the item:

  • Speak to a member of staff at an Enquiry Desk who will record the item as missing.

We will conduct a two week search for the item. If the item is found, it will be reserved for you and you will receive an email notification to let you know that the item is ready to collect. If the item cannot be found then a decision will be made whether to replace or not.
